Insurance does not permit billing for couples and family therapy as a unit. Insurance billing requires a formal diagnosis; the unit, i.e., the couple or family system, can not receive a diagnosis. Additionally, family therapy for insurance billing assists the family member and the identified patient in managing their diagnosis.

Effective February 1, 2025, all couples, family, or relational therapy are self-pay services. We offer package options for these services and will work with you to help you access care.

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, services may be covered in whole or part. Don’t hesitate to contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

Iā€™d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?

*Ms. Miller is In-Network with the insurance carriers above. Mrs. Pryor and Mrs. White are In-Network with Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare/Optum only via supervision billing. Mrs. London accepts Give An Hour and OpenPath Collective referrals. All providers accept self-pay and are part of our Affordable Counseling Program (sliding scale fee) and OpenPath Collective. Carriers with the asterisk indicate that we are approved to provide telemental health services. Please review your coverage to confirm that this service is a covered benefit.ā€‹ā€‹ If we are out of network, we will provide a superbill so you may file your claims. Please confirm that your provider is In-Network with your insurance carrier. Some providers are not participating.

Payment

I accept all major credit cards and ACH debit for payment. Our electronic health record (EHR), SimplePractice, facilitates payment management.

Cancellation Policy

If you cannot attend a session, please cancel at least 48 business hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

Any Other Questions

The No Surprises Act, effective January 1, 2022, requires clients utilizing out-of-network benefits, uninsured, or paying via cash to receive a good faith estimate of services and preliminary diagnosis. Please be aware that this estimate is subject to change as outlined during informed consent for treatment.
