Yazmine McNair-Turner, BS, MPH Graduate Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

We welcome Yazmine McNair-Turner, BS, MPH, to our 2025 Intern Class. We are excited that she will provide services to our community through both telehealth and in-office settings. She will begin serving clients in July.
“As a therapist, I believe in the transformative power of relationships—with others, ourselves, and the systems that shape our lives. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique story. With a background in public health (MPH) and a systemic lens, I view healing as both a personal and collective journey, where change happens in the spaces where we feel seen, heard, and valued.

Change begins with understanding—exploring the narratives we carry, the patterns that no longer serve us, and the strengths we sometimes overlook. I work collaboratively with clients to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can redefine their relationships, rewrite limiting beliefs, and cultivate resilience. My integrative approach draws on evidence-based models, such as narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and systemic frameworks, to empower individuals, couples, and families to move toward growth and connection.

I am passionate about working with:
  • Couples & Families navigating conflict, life transitions, or communication barriers.
  • Marginalized Communities, particularly BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals address the intersection of identity, systemic stress, and mental health.
  • Young Adults & Adolescents grappling with self-discovery, anxiety, or relational challenges.
  • Those Seeking Liberation from cycles of trauma, societal expectations, or unhealthy relational dynamics.
My clients often come to me wanting to change how they feel (less anxiety, more self-worth), how they connect (healthier relationships, boundaries), and how they experience the world (healing from racial, intergenerational, or attachment trauma). Together, we honor your lived experience while building pathways toward the life and relationships you deserve.”

I am supervised by Hawanya Miller, LMFT (#203524), AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate. My services are part of our Affordable Counseling Program.

Out-of-Pocket Rates: $25-$50
